This is a short post today — as opposed to other days — about the latest flower study of my hummingbird garden.
It seems the “featured image” by WordPress design likes only one geometry. Most annoying! “Continue reading” if you will to see this portrait mode piece. I shall debug that. But not today.
I carry forward the experiments with an underdrawing that represents the color temperature of the light and not the shadows. This was the secret sauce of Monet’s haystack series, and it represents something unobserved in any printed description I’ve seen.
It seems that typical art writers are incredibly glib and technically indifferent. In fact, if you want to learn impressionism, you would do well to ignore most of the texts on the subject. Look at the paintings themselves and reach your own conclusions.
